西南交通大学希望学院于2009年经国家教育部批准，由首批进入“双****”建设的百年名校西南交通大学和华西希望集团高标准、高起点创办，是以轨道交通为特色的一所全日制工科类普通本科高等院校，是四川省首批应用型转型改革试点院校、首批三全育人改革试点院校。学校设有成都校区和南充校区，主体成都校区坐落于金堂县大学城。
学校坚持社会主义办学方向，全面贯彻党的教育方针，弘扬“明德励志、务实创新、竢实扬华、自强不息”的校训精神，坚定“轨道交通”的办学特色，坚持“立足四川、服务西部、面向全国、走向国际”的办学定位，强化“以人为本，以学生为中心，把每个学生培养成才”的办学宗旨，实施“质量立校、人才强校、特色兴校、创新驱动、协同发展”的办学方略，努力培育以“宽基础、多口径、强能力、高素质”为特征的“现场工程师”应用型人才，致力建设“国内外知名、学科优势突出、行业特色鲜明、社会高度认可”的全国****应用技术型大学。
学校按照强化内涵、彰显特色要求，设有轨道交通学院、土木工程学院、商学院、继续教育学院、国际教育学院、马克思主义学院、外语系、学前教育系、护理系、基础部、体育部等教学单位，开办了覆盖工学、管理学、文学、理学等学科门类的本专科专业近50个，面向全国22个省市招收优质生源，现有在校学生近28000人。持续汇聚品德高尚、治学严谨、造诣精深的学科带头人，多途径引培高素质“双师双能型”人才，现有专任教师1250余人，其中研究生学历占比80％以上。建成学校数智化实训中心、“理实一体化”实验实训平台100余个，与企业合作建设校外实训基地200余个，其中轨道交通“理实一体化实训中心”获批四川省实验教学示范中心、“测量实训基地”获批省级大学生校外实践教育基地建设项目。图书馆面积3.3余万平方米，拥有纸质图书130余万册、电子图书200万册。
学校依托西南交通大学强大的师资优势以及母体学校******、省级特色专业和实验教学示范中心，将所办专业打造为轨道交通核心专业群、支撑专业群、延伸专业群，已获批省级****、示范专业建设点17个，实现省部级重点专业全覆盖。其中交通运输、土木工程等5个专业获批四川省****本科专业建设点，工程管理、机械设计制造及其自动化、计算机科学与技术等6个专业获批省级应用型示范建设专业，工程造价、会计学等4个专业获批四川省民办高校重点特色专业质量提升计划建设项目，物流工程、财务管理等2个专业获批四川省民办高校特色（骨干）专业建设项目。获批省级“课程思政”示范教学团队项目2个和省****课程、示范课程等35门。在校友会大学工学门类专业排名中，铁道工程专业位列西南地区应用型铁道工程专业第一，连续两年被评为A++。建筑电气与智能化、交通运输、工程造价等多个专业跻身“软科中国大学专业排名”排行榜。
学校强化科研竞赛的****作用，“十四五”以来，立项省部级、市厅级科研课题479项，立项教育部高校学生司供需对接就业育人项目18项，立项教育部产学合作协同育人项目15项，立项省级高等教育人才培养质量和教学改革项目4项，立项******大学生创新创业训练计划项目159项，立项省级大学生创新创业训练项目559项；发表论文1041篇，其中中文核心及以上期刊113篇；出版教材或专著43部；授权专利117件；学生参加各类学科竞赛获奖2572项，其中有******及以上奖374项、省级奖1186项。学校在“2022中国民办本科院校科研竞争力实力评价排名”中位列《基于增值评价的中国民办本科院校科研竞争力排名》第八名，在校友会2024年独立学院排行榜中名列第32位。
学校牢记“为谁培养人、培养什么人、怎样培养人”这个根本问题，深化教育教学改革创新，构建德智体美劳并举的育人体系，强化“就业—招生—培养”联动工作机制，加强与企业、院校、政府部门的战略性合作，推动校企地合作“全方位”“全过程”融合，通过订单培养、“3+1”“2+1”等模式，深度与成都地铁、成都现代有轨电车、成都铁路局、中铁八局、中铁建大桥局、京东商贸等企业合作交流，实现学生毕业与就业无缝对接。已累计输送5万余名高素质应用型人才，就业率和就业质量稳居同类院校前列，受到学生、家长和社会的广泛认可。作为四川省应用型本科高校联盟副理事长单位，学校积极推进资源共享、人才共育，获得良好反响。
学校积极推进国际交流合作，与马来西亚英迪国际大学、泰国西那瓦国际大学、白俄罗斯创业与管理学院、布列斯特国立技术大学、维捷布斯克国立大学、戈梅利国立大学、布列斯特国立大学、波洛茨克国立大学签订合作协议，发挥“国际课程周”品牌效应，实施“希望视界”教师提升计划，建设国际科研能力培养平台，培养具有国际视野的创新人才。学校于2021年被高校毕业生就业协会授予首批“海外实习就业基地学校”称号。

BasedontheadvantageousfacultyandeducationalresourcesofSouthwestJiaotongUniversity,includingherdistinctivespecialtiesatnationalandprovinciallevelsandexperimentalteachingdemonstrationcenters,ourmajorshavebeenorganizedintocoredisciplineclustersfocusingonrailtransportation,supportingdisciplineclusters,andextendeddisciplineclusters.Wehavebeenapproved17first-classanddemonstrationspecialtyconstructionpointsattheprovinciallevel,achievingcomprehensivecoverageofprovincialandministerial-levelkeymajors.Notably,fivemajorssuchasRailwayTransportation,CivilEngineeringhavebeenapprovedasfirst-classundergraduatemajorconstructionsitesinSichuanProvince.SixmajorssuchasEngineeringManagement,MechanicalManufacturingandAutomation,ComputerScienceandTechnologyhavebeenapprovedasprovincialapplication-orienteddemonstrationconstructionmajors.Additionally,fourmajorssuchasEngineeringCostingandAccountinghavebeenapprovedaskeyspecialtyqualityimprovementprojectsofSichuanprivatecolleges.Twomajors,namelyLogisticsEngineeringandFinancialManagement,havebeenidentifiedascharacteristicallyprofessionalconstructionprojectsofprivatecollegesinSichuanProvince.Ourcollegehasalsobeenapprovedbytwodemonstrationteachinggroupsofprovincial“IdeologicalandPoliticalTeachinginAllCourses”,aswellas35provincial-levelfirst-classcoursesandapplication-orienteddemonstrationcourses.AccordingtoanengineeringmajorrankingcompiledbyAlumniAssociationUniversity,ourrailwayengineeringmajorheadsthelistamongappliedrailwayengineeringmajorsinSouthwestChina,andhasreceivedA++ratingfortwoconsecutiveyears.Furthermore,majorssuchasBuildingElectricityandIntelligence,Transportation,andEngineeringCostarelistedinthe“ShanghaiRankingConsultancy’sBestChineseUniversityMajorsRanking”.
HopeCollegehasstrengtheneditsleadingroleinscientificresearchesandcompetitions.Sincethe14th-Five-YearPlan,479scientificresearchprojectsatprovincialandministeriallevelandmunicipallevel,18projectsofsupplyanddemanddockingemploymenteducationprojectsoftheDepartmentofCollegeStudentsoftheMinistryofEducation,15collaborativeeducationprojectsofindustry-universitycooperationoftheMinistryofEducation,4projectsofprovincialhighereducationtalenttrainingqualityandteachingreformprojectshavebeeninitiated.What’smore,thereare159nationalinnovationandentrepreneurshiptrainingprogramsand559provincialinnovationandentrepreneurshiptrainingprogramsforcollegestudents;1041papershavebeenpublished,including113inChinesecorejournalsandjournalsofhigherlevel;43textbooksandmonographshavebeenpublished;117patentshavebeenauthorized.Furthermore,wehavereceived2572awardsfromstudentsparticipatinginvariousdisciplinarycompetitions,ofwhich374awardsareatthenationalandaboveawards,and1186awardsareattheprovinciallevel.Inthe“2022ChinaPrivateUndergraduateCollegesResearchCompetitivenessEvaluationRanking”,ourcollegerankedtheeighthinthe“ChinaPrivateUndergraduateCollegesResearchCompetitivenessRankingbasedonValue-addedEvaluation”and32ndintheAlumniAssociation’s2024IndependentCollegeRanking.

Inthefuture,SouthwestJiaotongUniversityHopeCollegewillfocusontheconstructionofastrongeducationcountryandtheconstructionofthe“threezonesandonehighland”ofeducationintheprovince.Withplacingstudentsasthecenter,educationasthefoundation,andqualityimprovementasthecore,thecollegewillimplementthe“fivemajorprojects”ofpartybuildingdemonstrationandcreation,moralandpoliticaleducation,transformation,comprehensivereformofeducationandteaching,andschoolguaranteeimprovement.Itwilloptimizethecharacteristicsofrailtransit,strengthenthedigitaltransformation.Intheend,we’llcreateanew,energeticsystemwithadvantagestotrainappliedtalentsinthedigitalage,cultivatetalentsforthePartyandthenation,andsupporttheregionalandnationaleconomiesandsocieties.
